Description:

This course is designed to familiarize students with physical expectations to set forth by their chosen occupational pathway as physical skills and fitness are essential for successful job performance. In this course, students will have the opportunity to assess each health related component of fitness and participate in weekly training sessions. Various training techniques will be applied to assist students in improving personal fitness levels. Throughout this course, students will be introduced to various components of developing a health lifestyle. This course will focus on an introduction to the components of fitness as well as nutrition. The coursework will assist with enabling students to become better equipped to meet the physical occupational demands of their chosen profession. This course has specific protocols relating to missed classes. Please refer to the program manual and Teaching and Learning Plan for full details.
