Description:

Using various scientific methods, you will explore the basics of document examination as it pertains to law enforcement. You will follow the historical significance of document fraud as it pertains to travel, identity, educational certification, drivers licences, motor vehicle registrations, or any other printed matter. You will be introduced to the basic principles of print, document verification and counterfeit detection. You will explore the characteristics of document substrates and security printing in an interactive laboratory environment. You will employ various levels of magnification and sources of light to authenticate documents commonly seen by police, security and border services officers.
