This course provides the student with an overview of the 'systems' approach to the management of acquiring and moving raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory from supplier to production facility to customer with a goal to increasing profitability, increasing customer service and reducing cost. The value-added role of logistics helps to differentiate a product or service in the marketplace and effectively lowers the cost of doing business.
