Description:

In this course you will learn about the basics of vineyard pruning and maintenance practices with an emphasis on the Niagara region and other cool climate grape growing regions. You will gain knowledge and experience in pruning techniques, training of the vine, grafting, and propagation of vines, trellis systems, canopy management and site assessments. You will also learn about various pest control techniques, flower development and fruit seed. Classroom activities will focus on theories of different techniques and will enhance those techniques learned in the vineyard.
