In this course, students will build on previously acquired knowledge of normal anatomy and physiology as they are introduced to alterations in normal human physiology and an understanding of common disease processes. The etiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, common diagnostic tests and treatment options for various diseases will be examined using a body systems approach (endocrine, nervous, gastrointestinal, and genitourinal systems, and mental health). This course will prepare students to integrate and apply pathophysiologic concepts to clinical practice.
