In this course, the student will learn and apply the fundamentals of tool design. Production and economic factors will be considered when selecting a tooling plan. Workholding methods and common device applications are shown. The student will design a drilling jig or milling fixture. They will analyze and create a drawing set for a press tool. Metal forming, blanking, and shearing will be studied.
