Course Title: Statics
Code:
MECH1139PAdmit Term:
2028 Fall 1284Credits:
4Description:
The course begins with the two-dimensional analytical manipulation of force vectors, force moments, and couples to determine their components and resultant. It continues with the analytical procedures required to apply the principle of equilibrium to parallel, concurrent, and non-concurrent force systems. The 'Method of Joints' is used to analyze trusses and engineering frames. Static friction will also be explored in this course.
