In this course you will study the landlord and tenant laws and procedures. You will focus on the statutory regime in Ontario governing the landlord and tenant relationship in respect of residential and commercial tenancies. The constitutional issues and rationale in transferring landlord and tenant proceedings from the court process to a specialized tribunal are thoroughly analyzed. You will be introduced to your role in the procedures, practice and guidelines of the Ontario Landlord and Tenant Board. The documentary requirements and data necessary for the proper prosecution of various types of applications are systematically examined.
