Description:

This course provides a basic understanding of the rules of civil procedure, the steps involved in a civil action and the drafting of civil litigation documents and Automobile Insurance Claims Forms (OCF Forms). Students will learn how to proceed through a civil litigation file in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice applying the rules of civil procedure. Topics include commencing an action and application in the Superior Court of Justice, service of documents, pleadings, motions, discovery, pre-trial matters, trial, disposition without trial, settlement, mandatory mediation, case management and simplified procedure.
