In this course you will analyze the legal authorities, constitutional requirements and limitations related to a police officer's statutory powers of arrest, search and seizure. You will learn the procedures and problem solving skills applicable to common police investigations. You will conduct case studies and examine release provisions, bail hearing procedures, procedures used to charge an offender and methods of compelling offenders to attend court.
