Description:

This course provides a basic understanding of the Rules of Annual Practice and the steps involved in a civil litigation action. Students will learn how to proceed through a civil litigation file in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice applying the rules of civil procedure. Topics include commencing an action and application in the Superior Court of Justice, service of documents, pleadings, motions, discovery, pre-trial matters, trial, disposition without trial, settlement, mandatory mediation, case management and simplified procedure.
