This is an introduction to the structure and function of the hair and scalp, focusing on different types and diseases encountered in the industry. Students will learn to analyze the hair and scalp to give professional advice and treatments. Students will also learn basic chemistry and electricity to use electrical equipment and chemical solutions safely. The use of correct terminology and characteristics of professionalism will be reinforced while students develop sensitivity to interacting with a variety of clients.
