The course provides you with an overview of the Canadian legal system, focusing on legal liability and the legislation that has an impact on the hospitality sector. You will use specific reference to tort law, contract law, and the sale of alcohol, the Innkeepers' Act, the Occupiers' Liability Act and the responsibilities under the law related to successfully manage guest safety and security. You will formulate strategies and techniques to manage and minimize costs and liabilities associated with risks in the multi-faceted hospitality setting.
