A comprehensive, hands-on course builds on the knowledge students gained in HORT1265. During this course, the student will explore in depth the area of landscape carpentry. Students will participate in individual and group projects to develop skills using a variety of power and hand tools. Proper procedures, including all safety standards, will be stressed. Along with wood structures in the landscape, low-voltage lighting, water features, irrigation installation, and green roof installation theory will be demonstrated and practiced. Students will also learn good business practices for crew and equipment management.
