Description:

In this course students will learn about cool-season turfgrasses and how they are affected by the environmental influences of light, temperature, water, air, soil and use. Advanced cultural practices in regard to mowing, fertilization, irrigation, weed and thatch management will be discussed. Turfgrass IPM will be discussed with emphasis on green alternative management tools. There will be an in depth discussion of common weeds and their control. Students will be required to prepare a herbarium weed collection to enhance their weed identification skills.
