You will be introduced to the science of greenhouse plant production. You will use the Niagara College greenhouse to observe the effects of the plant environment on plant growth, with particular attention to light, temperature, and water management. You will investigate the growth requirements for selected crops from propagation through to flowering. You will also discuss tools for managing plant growth to time a crop. Building a crop schedule and planning towards set finishing dates will be introduced. You will be introduced to the concept of integrated pest management and to strategies for pest scouting.
