Description:

You will be introduced to the science of plant production in greenhouses. You will use the Niagara College greenhouse to observe the effect of plant environment on plant growth with particular attention to light, temperature, and water management. You will investigate the growth requirements for selected crops from propagation through to flowering. You will also discuss tools for managing plant growth for the purpose of timing a crop. Building a crop schedule and planning towards set finishing dates will be introduced. You will be introduced to the concept of integrated pest management and strategies for scouting for pests.
