In this course, you will be immersed in the working relationship between the landscape designer and the landscape contractor. You will further develop the landscape design theories and skills previously introduced in the program. An exploration of how to interpret landscape plans to construct a landscape efficiently is an underlying theme throughout the course. You will discuss hard landscaping materials and methods while learning to communicate design ideas graphically to ensure success during implementation. An introduction to construction methods will be demonstrated and practiced through a series of landscape construction labs. By the end of the course, you will demonstrate your understanding of the relationship between design and construction through the completion of a Landscape Design accompanied by an Implementation plan using computer-aided software; this will be an initial piece of your landscape portfolio.
