In this course you will be immersed into the working relationship between the landscape designer and the landscape contractor. You will further develop the landscape design theories and skills that were introduced in Landscape Graphics and Design (HORT1018). An exploration of how to interpret landscape plans to efficiently construct a landscape is an underlying theme throughout the course. You will discuss hard landscaping materials and methods while learning how to graphically communicate design ideas to create success during implementation. An introduction of construction methods will be demonstrated and practiced through a series of landscape construction labs. By the end of the course, you will demonstrate your understanding of the relationship between design and construction though the completion of a Landscape Design accompanied by an Implementation plan using computer aid software; this will be an initial piece of your landscape portfolio.
