This course provides a comprehensive overview of the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities including the factors contributing to its historic transformation. Some specific syndromes are studied but the focus is on current trends related to the philosophical, social and legal framework of service provision, and inclusion for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities throughout their life span.
