Though Game Design is as much art as it is science, systematic implementation of good design principles is essential. In this course, you will implement best practices to achieve the twin hallmarks of all successful games: engagement and entertainment. Based on a historical perspective of game archetypes, you will employ proven game design patterns in the development of game prototypes. Students use the game development environment to complete several micro-game projects and gain practical experience with video game world building and level design.
