This course is designed to familiarize students with the event and attractions industry. It will focus on the organization and management of attraction and entertainment complexes. Internal and external environmental factors that influence an event or attraction development will be examined. Using various attractions, festivals and events, you will have an opportunity to further your understanding of the theory and procedures essential to create, operate and evaluate events. You will examine the planning phases and components necessary for successful events. The course will demonstrate the connection between attractions and events and students will have an opportunity to examine ways to improve existing events and attractions and propose event initiatives utilizing attraction and venue space drawing on research and industry best practices.
