This course will provide knowledge of surface water, sediments, and benthic macroinvertebrates, and their dynamics in relation to one another and to landscape changes. These parameters will be discussed in relation to water quality. The emphasis of this course is on practical (standard methods) laboratory and field techniques for collecting and analyzing samples from aquatic systems. The basics of flow monitoring are covered and related to those concepts learned in Hydrology.
