Description:

In this course, you will build on and refine your chemistry skills by combining the theory of analytical chemistry with advanced instrumental analysis. You will practice sample preparation, gravimetric and electro-analytical methods, spectroscopy and chromatography. Lab sessions will emphasize the importance of safety, documentation and good laboratory technique to the workplace. Demonstrations of some instrumentation will be addressed in industrial and environmental lab tours. Field analysis techniques will also be introduced and compared with analytical lab analysis.
