This introductory course will focus on developing your understanding of soil science. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in classifying soil and identifying its properties. Subjects to be covered will include introductory geology; weathering processes; soil formation and soil formation processes; soil classification and identification; soil erosion; the relationship between rock, soil, and water flow; pollution, waste, and environmental impacts on soils; and links to other environmental systems. The lab program will allow you to practice techniques for identifying physical, chemical, and biological parameters of soil.
