The ability to apply statistical techniques to data, cultivate a strong understanding of databases, and develop proficiency in data-handling programming languages has become an essential skill for a sound environmental technician. In this course, students will build on their statistical skills using Excel and recognize its utility for organizing, analyzing, and presenting data. Students will also practice organizing databases and writing queries in Access. In addition, students will explore data programming languages, such as Structured Query Language (SQL), using PostgreSQL. Students will use specific software libraries for basic data manipulation, including libraries for data visualization, data structures, and data analysis.
