Ecology is the study of the relationships between organisms and their environment. A rational understanding of these relationships is essential for conducting environmental assessments and managing our natural resources. You will explore the temporal and spatial components of ecosystem structure and function, including the cycling of energy and nutrients, the ecology of individual organisms, the ecology of populations, and community dynamics. We will revisit our local watershed and investigate its floral and faunal populations, and the land uses that may impact them.
