This course will introduce the theory of open and closed earth loops and demonstrate proper installation techniques for various subsystems in a ground-source heat pump installation. Students will discuss the multiple components of geothermal heat exchange installations, and learn to calculate flow rates and size piping loops to maximize efficiency.
