You will study techniques necessary to ensure the preparedness, maintenance, and defensive driving techniques necessary for emergency vehicle operation. You will examine the theoretical background for vehicle extrication, interaction with other emergency services personnel at hazardous materials incidents, helicopter interface, and multi-casualty incidents. Additionally you will learn about various telecommunication devices, electronic mapping and electronic charting options. This course corresponds with the National Occupational Competency Profiles for the Paramedic Practitioner (NOCP).
