Course Title: Antennas and Radio Wave Propagation
Code:
ELNC1730PAdmit Term:
2023 Winter 1231Credits:
5Description:
The student will learn the fundamental principles of transmission line theory related to communications including the propagation of signals on a transmission line and in free space. The student will perform analysis and design calculations while developing test and measurement skills in communication systems involving time and frequency domain concepts. Noise and system noise figure are discussed with a series of calculations. A range of transmission line types such as coax, microwave waveguides and microstrip will be studied as well as wave propagation with an emphasis on antennas, microwave devices, S-parameters, and radar principles.
