This course continues coverage in more detail of industrial electronics such as poly-phase rectifiers, line-commutated and self-commutated converter applications. Topics include the operation and control of both AC & DC variable speed motor drives, speed sensors, signal conditioning, control system interfacing, along with specialized phase control applications for AC motors and electric utilities. The PIC Microcontroller for embedded controls is also introduced and used throughout the term as an integral component in modern industrial controls.
