Students will quickly review assembly-level programming for the Microchip microcontroller family before moving to high-level programming with the C language, enabling rapid embedded firmware development. Labs will cover most aspects of the microcontroller, tailored to industry applications. Students will learn how memory is organized, variable types and management, how to use memory tables, how to create subroutines and macros, and how to configure peripherals, including analogue-to-digital converters (A-to-D), interrupts, and input/output (I/O) ports, while using multiple external sensors.
