Description:

Students will interpret and apply the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) or the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), as well as other relevant standards, policies, and procedures, as they apply to the electrical trade. Emphasis will be on residential dwellings. Students will perform electrical calculations, such as service sizing, demand load, conductor ampacities, and box fill, and apply appropriate derating factors. Through the use of CAD software, students will generate drawings that will reinforce Code rules.

Prerequisites for this course

    • DRFT1220 - Electrical CAD OR
    • ELEC1232 - Electrical II
