Description:

This course will guide you in the exploration of responsible conduct in research, including methodology, rigor, bias and ethics. You will study the development of hypothesis, study design and the foundations of research planning using the global 'Good Clinical Practise' guidelines. You will learn how a dental therapeutic or device is brought to market; from laboratory, then animal studies, on to human clinical trials, and finally, through government approval (U.S and Canada) to the consumer. You will examine basic statistical tools for data analysis such as measures of central tendency, measures of variation, and some inferential statistical techniques.
