Quality Management is the foundation upon which we base the overall health and safety of the consumer and the consistency of the final product. It plays a critical role in the overall production of the spirits and the continuity of customer satisfaction and loyalty to the product. In this course you will analyze the components of a quality management system (QMS) as it would be applied in a Distillery setting. Students will assess the key features of a QMS and discuss the benefits of implementing such a system. An understanding will be gained of the specific function and application of statistics and product control to ensure the safety and consistency of distilled products. You will learn to identify, assess and evaluate the potential impact of contamination and microbiological infection on product quality.
