Description:

Although the equipment and practices have evolved, the science of distilling still incorporates the same laws of fractional distillation that we have been using for centuries to produce distilled spirits. In this course you will learn the different types of distilled spirits and understand the standards of identity for the major styles produced worldwide. An understanding of the components and process of distillation and the impact of yeast and other micro-organisms will be gained. You will also learn the differences between the various types of stills used in production of distilled spirits and the unique characteristics they impart on the finished products.
