Description:

This course builds on material introduced in dental hygiene Principles and Professionalism I and II. Focus will be placed on the legal and regulatory aspects of dental hygiene that will prepare the student for registration with the CDHO. A detailed evaluation of the RHPA and DHA, and regulations affecting dental hygiene practice in Ontario, will be addressed. Particular emphasis will be placed on recognizing the mandatory reporting obligations, the complaints and discipline process and preparing for the CDHO quality assurance program. Students will consider the changing role of the DH professional and current issues surrounding the profession
