You will explore diverse populations including the older adult, pediatrics, and persons with disabilities. You will study the biological, psychological, and social variations within these populations. You will consider growth and development, informed consent, health promotion, injury prevention, behavioural, fear and anxiety management. You will gain awareness of physical, cognitive, psychological, sensory, and emotional needs. You will learn to recognize how to modify care to meet unique client needs. Customization of the dental hygiene process of care for the older adult, the child through to adolescent and the individual with unique needs will be examined. The importance of collaboration with other health care providers to support quality care will be discussed.
