You will build on knowledge gained in Dental Hygiene Principles and Professionalism I. The study of the Dental Hygiene Process of Care will continue with an emphasis on assessment and care planning as part of comprehensive dental hygiene client care. You will apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills by developing an uncomplicated Dental Hygiene diagnosis and client care plan. The Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) and Dental Hygiene Act (DHA), 1991, will be introduced. The dental hygienist will be recognized as clinician, oral health educator, health promoter, advocate and coordinator. The significance of standards of practice, quality assurance, ethics and professional associations will be explored.
