Description:

You will be introduced to the profession of dental hygiene and the theoretical and conceptual framework of the Dental Hygiene Process of Care. Particular emphasis will be placed on assessment procedures and skills, and related documentation, charting and record keeping. You will learn client/clinician positioning, ergonomics, instrumentation, personal safety and infection control procedures. An overview of the history of Dental Hygiene as a self-regulated profession in Ontario, the scope of dental hygiene practice, and the role of the CDHO will be introduced.
