This foundational course focuses on oral health, its impact on general health and the factors initiating oral bacterial biofilm diseases and their management. Principles of client coaching, motivational interviewing and motivation to foster behavioural change are explored to support adoption of mechanical oral biofilm control. Case studies for client-specific indications, selection and use of self-care interdental and supplemental self-care devices are reviewed.
