Criminology is the sociological study of crime and the criminal justice system. Criminology is a vibrant area of study that is continually evolving in its aim to understand crime better and control it. In this course, you will examine the historical development of criminological thought, investigate the main approaches and theories in the discipline of criminology, and discuss different types of crime, including but not limited to violent crime, property crime, organized crime, corporate crime, cybercrime, crimes against public order, and transnational crime.
