Description:

This course will provide students with a broad, fundamental understanding of the principles of green construction. The course will identify and analyze existing programs promoting green construction including the Energy Star for New Homes program and the LEED program. Students will investigate green building systems and components and compare them to traditional components and methods. When possible, site visits to existing buildings that exemplify good design principles and qualify for green building certifications are included.
