This course uses the population health framework to focus on the nurse's role in primary care, home care, community settings, and public health. You will practice principles of community assessment and development, program planning, and other strategies informed by a population health perspective, with particular emphasis on populations and the social, political, and economic determinants of health. You will cultivate your ability to develop therapeutic nurse-client relationships, framed within the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) values of client well-being, client choice, privacy and confidentiality, respect for life, maintaining commitments, truthfulness, and fairness.
