Within various supervised clinical settings, this course explores the concepts of wellness, health, and illness for persons requiring nursing care in a residential/long-term care setting. The learner will examine the nurse's role when caring for individuals needing support with activities of daily living due to comorbidities, limited mobility, and/or cognitive impairment. The learner will begin to implement individualized care plans in long-term care supervised clinical settings while cultivating the ability to develop therapeutic nurse-client relationships framed within the College of Nurses of Ontario's (CNO's) values of client well-being, client choice, privacy and confidentiality, respect for life, maintaining commitments, truthfulness, and fairness.
