You will examine the RPN role when caring for individuals with acute health challenges. You will adapt your critical-thinking skills to planning and implementing holistic nursing care in various simulated experiences and medical/surgical clinical settings. You will apply nursing theory to assess clients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate client outcomes. You will develop competence with nursing interventions, including but not limited to tracheostomy care, suctioning and blood transfusion. You will optimize your ability to establish therapeutic nurse-client relationships framed within the CNO's values of client well-being, client choice, privacy and confidentiality, respect for life, maintaining commitments, truthfulness, and fairness. During GPA certification, you will also learn dignity-promoting strategies to manage clients' responsive behaviours.
