Description:

In this course, you will develop your knowledge and skills in applying the limit state design approach to the design of light wood-framed structures, with an emphasis on residential and timber-frame structures. Floor joists, beams, walls, and columns are designed by the CAN/CSA-O86-01, Engineering Design in Wood. The course will conclude with an examination of the analysis and design issues related to the stability of earth-retaining structures.
