You will take off quantities and develop total costs for a structural steel building. You will be introduced to WinEst estimating software and CostWorks database estimating software. You will apply the software to a quantity take-off to determine unit prices, labour production rates, crew sizes and total price. You will use industry price lists and databases to develop project prices and use gross margin and markup methods to determine profit and overheads. Production rates will be used to determine staffing requirements and costs for these projects.
