You will develop the quantities of lumber, plywood, and other materials needed to frame a residential structure's floor, wall, and roof. Utilizing the drawings produced in DRFT1326, you will develop the quantities and prices of excavation, concrete, formwork, lumber, plywood and other materials for a residential structure's foundation, floor, wall and roof framing elements. You will be introduced to masonry construction with an overview of the product, the identifying terminology, and the purpose of the components of a masonry structure. You will develop quantity take-offs and pricing for masonry construction. You will calculate the quantities of bricks and blocks of various bonds and sizes in standard and specialty shapes. The purpose and take-off procedures for horizontal reinforcing, brick ties and related miscellaneous items will be studied. Microsoft Excel will be used extensively throughout the course.
