In this course, students will broaden their understanding of the introductory concepts presented in Advanced Health Chemistry I in preparation for further study in a science or health-related program at university. The concepts studied include solutions and solubility, acids, bases, chemical systems, and equilibria. Students will also develop an understanding of organic compounds by examining their nomenclature, structure, chemical and physical properties, and general reactions. Where possible, examples will be drawn from inorganic, organic, and biochemistry to provide students with a chemical perspective of issues related to health sciences. The activities in this course are designed to enhance understanding of the theoretical concepts covered in the classroom.
